Seen this week: New York Reflections by Saul Leiter
Saw Saul Leiter's retrospective yesterday in the Jewish Historical Museum. Impressive and inspiring to me for many reasons: individuals going through life in a big city, gorgeous compositions, resulting in melancholic - and sometimes alienating- photos. Right up my alley.
Below some of my favorites.
O and I love what Saul says here: 'I have nothing against a view of life that thinks it's worthwhile to pursue beauty. No need to apologize for that.'

What do our homes say about us?
I think our houses say a lot about us.

Interview Miranda July on Learning To Love You More
Watch it here!
I love what she says here: ' My favorite thing in the world is when I look at a piece of art, read a story, see a movie, where I walk away feeling: O my god, I have to do something, I have to make something, talk to someone. Things are not the same anymore. So I try to make work where you come away with that feeling. You're thinking about what you just saw, but even more. You feel able.'
